Volvo and Volvo FL trucks are now easier to drive in the city, they also offer an improved environment for the driver and the Volvo FL , meanwhile, it has expanded with a four -cylinder engine and 5 liters very competitive.
"The drivers have to enter and leave with some frequency of their vehicles in each shift. That is why we have focused on creating a comfortable and practical environment for the driver, with good visibility in all directions," says Claes Nilsson, president of Volvo Trucks.
The driver's working conditions have improved thanks to a new lighter instrument panel and the new ergonomic seats that have integrated safety belt and headrest. The reinforced and anchored seat to the ground improves security in case of accident.
New engines for Volvo FL
The driving is more efficient thanks to two new eight -five -liter engines internally designed:
• The new 6 -cylinder D8 engine is 7.7 liters and is available with three powers to choose from: 320 hp/1,200 Nm, 280 hp/1,050 Nm and 250 hp/950 nm.
• The Volvo FL is also available with the 4 -cylinder compact engine, 5.1 liters and a range of powers of 240 hp/900 Nm and 210 hp/800 nm.
"With their rapid application of the torque to low revolutions, the two engines are perfect for rapid, comfortable and safe driving in cities and their surroundings. Their great ease of driving helps drivers to meet the tight work schedules," says Ruddy Houtmeyers, head of Strategic Product for Semi -Sated Vehicles, Volvo Trucks.
"These engines comply with the Euro 6 regulations and their fuel consumption is at the same level as that of our Euro 5 engines. The technological solution to meet the requirements of Euro 6 regulations consists of a combination of selective reduction catalyst (SCR) and turbocharger with variable geometry turbine), a refrigerated EGR system and a particle filter," continues Ruddy Houtmeyers.
Automated transmission
The two new engines also have a complete range of gearboxes. Among the different options, the Volvo Fe already has I-Shift.
Another new provision is the ESP System (Electronic Stability Program) that is now included as standard in the Volvo Fe and the Volvo FL . The ESP system helps the driver keep the truck on the road if the vehicle rotates unforeseen or abruptly.
12 tons version for the Volvo FL
Volvo Trucks has also designed an exclusive version of 12 tons of the volvo fl . It is a very competitive model that has the most powerful engine of its segment (Four-cylinder D5 with a power of 240 hp), I-Sync gearbox optimized and a 500 kg weight less than that of a similar truck with a 6-cylinder engine.
"The new 12 -ton truck is a hard competitor in the segment of larger semi -marked vehicles. The truck is lighter, lower and has a more competitive price than the current model. It helps increase the productivity and effectiveness of the customer and at the same time offers the driver improved working conditions," says Tobias Bergman.
"A lot of attention has been paid to the design of all the details of the truck. For example, the wheels are smaller, which makes the head of the cabin be reduced in five centimeters so that the driver enjoy greater visibility in all directions and can enter and leave the cabin with greater comfort," adds Tobias Bergman.
The range of front and side rearviews combined with the possibility of adding side, rear and doors windows also contributes to the excellent visibility in all directions.
NEW DESIGN
The classic Ironmark of Volvo has been placed under the windshield, to give to the volvo faith and the Volvo FL a clearly identifiable volvo image. The dark section under the windshield causes the cabin to seem lower in order to confer a modern appearance that forms a harmonious set with the traffic environment.
The redesigned headlights and the characteristics daytime lights also put it with the rest of the range of new models of Volvo trucks. The headlights are integrated into the new bumper, which is a three -piece unit with the steel corner sections for longer duration and economic repairs in case of small blows and scratches.
