Peugeot has just updated the ranks of its SUV range with the presentation of the new Peugeot 2008. In addition to gasoline and diesel mechanics, it will be the first SUV of the brand to receive a 100% electric propulsion system.
The new 2008, which will begin to be sold at the end of this year, once begins to occur in the brand's facilities in Vigo. Little has to do with the previous version, since it is built with the CMP (Common Modular Platform) platform, the same that serves as the basis for the new Peugeot 208, which was presented in the last Geneva Hall. This platform is more modern and allows several types of motorization, gasoline, diesel and for the first time, 100% electric. Thermal motors meet emissions regulations. Those of gasoline, all of 3 cylinders and 1.2 liters, the Euro 6D. They are the 100, 130 and 155 puret, with 6 -speed manual or automatic manual gearbox. Diesel fulfill the 6D-TEMP Euro, and are four-cylinder BlueHDI 100 and 130.
At the aesthetic level, the design of the new Peugeot 2008 keeps a certain kinship with the recently presented 208, with attractive and distinctive lines. The triangular grill -in the color of the body in the electric version -is flanked by optical groups with LED technology. In profile, 2008 stands out for bulky wheel steps, as well as on the tires up to 18 '' -in the GT Line and GT- versions. In the back, all the attention is concentrated in the pilots joined by a black and in the double exhaust output, available in the GT Line PureTech130 and BlueHDI 130 and GT Pure Tech 155 versions.
All this is complemented with the Black Black Diamond roof and with the screenwash in the Pilar C of the GT Line and GT versions. The chromatic range consists of the following colors: ELIXIR, Blue Vertigo and Orange Fusion.
The new line of this SUV looks more muscular and sports, wins in packaging. In part also because the measures change: 4.30 meters long (14 centimeters more than the previous 2008) and its battle grows 6 centimeters, up to 2.60 meters. This, in theory, improves internal habitability. Peugeot announces a 434 -liter trunk capacity (338 liters in the outgoing model), a figure that remains even in the electric version.
The interior has also been completely reviewed, and now it looks more technological and ergonomic. The latest generation of the I-Cockpit is included, with the typical compact steering wheel, high position instrument and an HD touch screen of up to 10 inches in the downtown center. The instrument picture information is projected in the form of a hologram, as we could see in the Peugeot 208. According to the French brand, this system improves the effectiveness, ease of reading and safety while driving.
