The designs of this futuristic megaciudad that will be composed of The Line, the Bay of Neom, the Neom Bay Airport, Oxagon Industrial City (the first and largest floating industrial polygon in the world), Trojena (the Neom mountain), Agriculture and Neom International Airport .

Saudi Arabia has just announced the designs of The Line, the next futuristic city within the country's plans. Mohamed Bin Salman, prince heir prince, has announced the proposed design within the NEOM project for this new city and states that it will be an example to follow for the next urban communities in the future.

The NEOM project

Neom is a project in which it is not about creating a city to use, it is about creating the intelligent city of the future. According to Saudi Arabia, it will be located in the province of Tabuk northwest of Saudi Arabia and could have an area of 26,500 km2.

Neom is a totally different concept from what we are used to, it will be composed of several areas The Line, the Neom Bay, the Neom Bay Airport, Hexagon Industrial City (the first and largest floating industrial polygon in the world), Agriculture and Neom International Airport.

Each of the areas are in itself totally unique pharaonic projects, of these projects little by little the characteristics and designs that are given to them are being known.

The Line

The Line will be composed of two reflective glass buildings that will measure up to 488 meters and will extend in parallel for 170 kilometers through coastal, mountainous and desert land.

With a width of only 200 meters, The Line must respond to uncontrolled and harmful urban expansion for the environment, superimposing houses, schools and parks in three dimensions, according to a model of "zero gravity urbanism."

Inside, there will be a mixture of urbanism with nature with different functions. According to Bin Salman, "the city will have the ability to create extraordinary experiences and magical moments."

The Line will be free of roads since vehicles cannot circulate through it, which will completely reduce the number of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, and will become one of the first cities with these characteristics.

It will also have streets mixed with nature and natural ecosystems. In this way, the city will not be flat and horizontal as the traditional ones we know, but would have a three -dimensional design. Thus, it is intended to achieve harmony between urban development and the preservation of nature.

Trojena

Trojena will be a tourist destination that you are not waiting to find in Saudi Arabia, a destination to practice ... alpine skiing . It will be one of the more than 100 tourist activities that can be practiced in Trojena, the futuristic city that Neom is already building in the mountains of Saudi Arabia.

Trojena will have 7,000 permanent residents, more than 3,600 hotel rooms , and unique facilities in the world. You can see it in the video that is totally spectacular.

But even if you don't believe it, Trojena is not just a concept. It is already being built in the Mountains of Neom, and it is expected to begin to receive tourists in 2026 . Permanent residences should be finished in 2030.

Oxagon

Oxagon would be the world's largest industrial city. This octagonal complex is presented as a completely novel model to design and manage industrial activity, and is conceived as “a center of clean and advanced industries with zero emissions”, as can be seen in this gallery of the project.

Oxagon Project

A unique project

It is clear that Neom is a unique pharaonic project, there are currently areas that are under construction and until we see them finished we will not know if it is something realistic or an authentic chimera.

With just achieving half of the objectives that the project has been set, a real achievement could be considered. Time will say if the manida quotation of "money can" be true and to achieve all its objectives this project would become the greatest architectural achievement achieved by humanity, well above the Great Wall of China or the Pyramids of Giza.
