The new škoda museum in Mladá Boleslav is ready. This completely redesigned exhibition center for the brand on Václava Klementa street will offer visitors a captivating trip through the company's history in a diverse, interactive and multimedia way. It is a stimulating trip throughout the 117 years of Škoda history, illustrated by vehicles, films, testimonies and documents, all presented in a very current and modern way in more than 1,800 m2 of exhibition space in the historic production pavilions.

Located at the company's origin and home, the new škoda museum presents the history of products and people related to the brand of one of the richest car manufacturers in tradition. In addition, the new museum has a new multifunctional space called "Forum Laurin & Klement", suitable for almost all kinds of events and one of the most modern scenarios in the Czech Republic.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the brand thanks to three thematic areas with 46 historical vehicles, several hundred exposed objects, as well as historical films, photos and documents. The designers of the new museum had more than just creating a new exhibition space, so they compiled a large amount of prominent content, offered a clear structure for the exhibition and allowed a transmission of modern and interactive knowledge. The exterior of the museum has given the historical building a spectacular new appearance.

"Evolution," "tradition" and "precision" as conductive threads of the exhibition
a union of "tradition", "precision" and "evolution" constitutes the theme that defines the content of the new museum. Three worlds of experience, each with their own accent, making the visit exciting, enriching and surprising. The conductive thread of the exhibition is a mixture of vehicles and stories, with all the elements presented in a multimedial and interactive configuration, which offers different options to the visitor: from simply admiring the vehicles and exposed objects, to explore the photographs and films to deepen their knowledge. Flexibility is what defines the new škoda museum.

Scenario for events with a unique atmosphere
The new "Forum Laurin & Klement" is a 930 m2 multifunctional space that offers the ideal scenario for Škoda special events and exhibitions, but which can also be adapted to external functions and house almost 600 people. This scenario has high -tech solutions such as the retractable multifunctional scenario and a tribune also retractable.

The museum also offers a children's area (254 m2) that has been fully restored and where the little ones can discover the world of Škoda and try their driving skills at the wheel of a Bobby Car.

Historical location with a modern appearance
The new škoda museum is a center of the brand in a very special site. After all, this is one of the cribs of European car production. The building, an industrial structure of three plants of sober and clear architecture, is part of a Škoda complex that has more than 100 years of history, built between 1898 and 1912. It is not clear which models were manufactured here. What is known is that the engines were produced here. Later, the building was used for a long time as an offices complex, until the škoda museum moved here in 1995.

The central location of the building on Václava Klementa street, between the plant and the city, underlines the strong links between Škoda and the city of Mladá Boleslav. "This is where the brand's heart beats," explains Winfried Vahland.

Inside the museum, there was practically no brick that would be preserved, since the interior was totally emptied and renovated. Electrical systems, ventilation, lighting and air conditioning are totally new. More than 100 kilometers of new electrical cables and three kilometers of new heating ducts have been thrown to create a new light, fresh and totally modern architecture.

Whenever it has been possible, the architects of the building have made use of historical structures. "It is the mixture between a historical building and a modern interior that makes the new museum so exciting and unique," explains Dieter Sinkt, creative director of the project architects.

The exterior of the building has been completely renewed. Now, the museum looks clear, open and immediately cozy, although the facade has not changed its architecture, since a new layer of plaster has been added and it has been made more bright and pleasant. The color range of the building is white and gray.

The great letters Škoda Muzeum clearly announce the identity of the structure, and the name reappears in three -dimensional letters next to the main entrance.

The arcade of the building along Václava Klementa is its showcase, offering pedestrians a covered passage, but also giving a sample of the "evolution" section of the museum. "It is a great showcase with the character of a gallery that transmits a strong invitation message," explains Dieter Hundt.

Once inside the building, visitors know at all times what they will see thanks to a new digital and analog signage. All functions and elements related to the static and dynamic guide system are individually arranged in each room.
