BMW Motorrad concerned with the changing needs of the environment and society presents the C Evolution motorcycle, electric mobility on two wheels designed for urban traffic and other new challenges.
C Evolution, differs by having an innovative electric motor with tilting combined with the set and a propeller formed by an electric motor cooled by water, a dentated strap and a planetarium. It also has a durable performance of 11 kW (homologation according to ECE R85) and a maximum power of 35 kW.
Although, weighing in an electric vehicle is to think of reduced speeds and limited autonomy, C evolution exceeds the inconveniences of electric vehicles. It reaches a tip of 120 km/Hy has an autonomy of up to 100 kilometers thanks to its large capacity battery (8 kWh) and rapid recharge, which incorporates an innovative air cooling system and an intelligent energy recovery system during the deceleration and braking phases.
On the other hand, its hybrid chassis makes it a vehicle of great maneuverability, with the very low center of gravity, as well as a high -performance brake system, with ABS and tires of low rolling resistance Metzeler Feelgreen.
The conduction of the BMW C Evolution is also facilitated to a TFT type instrument board in combination with LED daytime driving light.
History of the BWM C Evolution
During the 2011 Innovation Day of BMW Motorrad the first concept of an electric scooter was presented, even in the development phase. At present, scooters that only work with electric motor are almost only for use within cities, because they have limited benefits and their autonomy is modest.
However, the Concept-Scooter BMW E-Scooter includes sustainable technical solutions and its radius of action is much broader. Shortly after, in the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), the Concept e Design study was released. It was an electric scooter manufactured by BMW Motorrad and corresponded to the second phase of development of the scooter originally presented. This new proposal represented the aesthetic vision of a scooter propelled by an electric motor.
Now, with the "C Evolution", the third phase of development is presented. BMW Motorrad presents an electric scooter prototype very close to that which could be manufactured as standard and, therefore, could be launched very soon. In the case of an appropriate vehicle to move between the periphery of the city and the urban center, the development experts had to apply mainly two criteria. On the one hand, appropriate benefits, comparable to those of a maxi-SCOOTER with combustion engine, and on the other hand, great autonomy applying realistic use criteria.
BMW Motorrad has five copies of the fully functional "C evolution", with which the brand is accumulating experiences in two -wheeled vehicles propelled by electric motors. In this way, BMW Motorrad expands its professional competence in this segment. In addition, BMW Motorrad takes advantage of a series of events organized in Europe in order to promote the acceptance of two electric vehicles, thus preparing the reception that a vehicle of this nature manufactured in serial will have in the market. During this phase, vehicles are subjected to tests in very diverse conditions, in realistic and practical circumstances. Its use also serves to analyze the existing infrastructure. For example, to create a network of electric mobility bidders, including, among others, car rental companies or car shared companies (carsharing).
