The 4 -series BMW Concept Coupé, is the fourth generation of Sports Coupé, more evolved, more sporty, exclusive and differentiated thanks to its new aesthetics.

Greater dynamism: lower, wider
even though it is not in motion, the dynamism of the BMW 4 Concept series series is manifested through its dimensions: wheelbase 50 millimeters greater (2 810 mm), front track width 45 millimeters greater (1 545) and posterior track width 80 millimeters greater (1 593 mm). The width of the car increases 44 mm and is 1 826 mm, while the ceiling height is 16 mm smaller, being now 1 362 mm. The length is now 4,641 millimeters.
Perfect proportions
The same happens with the proportions, typical of the BMW cars: great wheelbase, long hood, housing displaced back, small blasting. In this way, the BMW 4 Concept Coupé series seems to be accelerating even if it does not move. At the same time, the elongated proportions radiate an athletic elegance. The posterior wheel steps, being the widest part of the car, underline that elegant aesthetic expression. The tense and precise lines and surfaces give emotion to the body.
High quality design details fascinate at first glance. Various functional elements are aesthetically enhanced by high quality elements of satin aluminum. This happens, for example, with air inlets and outputs, doors and exterior rearview mirrors. Each of these details betrays the passion of designers, who aspire to aesthetic perfection in each functional element.
Precision and sportsmanship
The front of the BMW 4 Series Concept Coupé is defined through its profile and the shaded and clear surfaces of achievement alternation. The emblematic parts of the BMW models, such as the double ovoid grill and the round double headlights, have sportingly inclined shapes and allow to immediately see that the BMW 4 Concept Coupé series is a brand of the brand.
In this model, the double ovoid grill and the double round headlights, two brand design icons, have a thorough finish and an accentuated three -dimensionality. The grill is closed, which optimizes the aerodynamics of the car and reduces its consumption. The surfaces between the sophisticated rods and satin appearance are dark.
The LED headlights, in a hexagonal way, interpret the typical round double headlights of the BMW models. The dynamic more inclined forms and with achaflanaded edges harmonize perfectly with the design of the front. The light configuration takes up the theme of the formal union between the headlights and the grill that is manifested in the BMW models 3 series, although improving it, because that union can now also be seen at night. In the inner tube of the lighthouse a light driver is born that manages to establish a link between the inner lighthouse and the grill, so the front seems to be even wider.
Large air entrance is the most striking part of the BMW characteristic front, in addition to the double ovoid grill and double round headlights. This great entrance indicates that the car has a very powerful engine, which requires a large refrigeration capacity. At the same time, it manages to devise the view towards bulging and athletic wheel steps. Its two outer rods retake the hexagonal contour of the design of the headlights, thus emphasizing the width and sports design of the front of the car.
The air entrance includes three decorative elements of satin finish aluminum and marked forms, which give the car an appearance of great poise. Its energetic route accentuates the width of the entrance, dividing it sportsly into three parts. The sides of the two rods have different widths, conferring an especially sporty appearance in front. At the same time they mark clearly defined limits between the cooling air of the engine, the brakes, the oil and those that form the air curtains conceived according to the criteria BMW efficientdynamics. The air curtains direct the flow to the outside of the wheels, so a favorable aerodynamic surface occurs in the wheel steps area. This configuration perceptibly reduces fuel consumption.
On the side, the athletic qualities of the BMW 4 Concept Coupé Series are enhanced. The elongated lines and the expressive forms of the surfaces create an alternation of clear and shaded parts. The roof line that descends in the back until joining with harmony and softness behind the car in the purest style of a Coupé, optically extends the profile and accentuates the sportsmanship of the side. Also the design of the windows is low and elongated. The side mirror seems to get out of the waist line. The rearview mirror combines functional, aerodynamic and emotional aspects. In the passage zone between the ceiling and the rear, where surfaces and volumes are harmoniously found, the design of the C -amount C is very dynamic, contributing to the softness of the silhouette.
The double fold line under the glazed surfaces, usual in the BMW 3 Series, gives the car the image of being ready to be launched. The shaded surface of the double fold line is reduced considerably as it passes over the posterior wheel. In this way the muscular shapes are underlined in the rear and the posterior wheel jumps more in sight, emphasizing the dynamism of rear -wheel drive, typical in the brands of the brand.
The "Airbreather", the aerodynamic air exit behind the front wheel, accentuates the aerodynamic design of the new BMW series 4 Concept Coupé. At the same time, that exit marks a dynamic expression zone between the two clear surfaces of the lateral part of the car, taking up the shapes of the beautifying elements found in the front. The "Airbreather" air exit rightly combines the criteria of BMW efficientdynamics with the typical brand design. Together with the air curtain that starts in the frontal skirt, the aerodynamic resistance in the wheel area is very efficient.
The elegant and dynamic silhouette is completed with 20 -inch light alloy wheels, developed for this model. Its sophisticated design with multiple markedly three -dimensional radios, underlines the sports and select character of the car.
The sports expression of the BMW 4 Concept Coupé series continues on the back. The design of the rear enhances the horizontal layout of the lines, and the elongated pilots, mounted at the ends, accentuate the shape of the wheel steps. The Lunea gets the rear to seem even lower and that the body has a more athletic appearance. The design of the back, as a whole, makes the waist line stand out more. Among the horizontal lines of the rear, the three -dimensionality of the surfaces is subtly imposed. The shaded parts correspond to the tensely concave areas, which seem to apply pressure on the car to advance. The back gives the impression of acquiring life thanks to the contrast between clear and shadow surfaces.
The BMW's subsequent L -shaped pilots 4 Concept Coupé Series harmonize perfectly with the aesthetic expression of this model. They are born in the lateral folding line, so they are an integral part of the entire exterior design. Towards the center of the rear they are narrower, accentuating the shape of the rear lights, while widening outside, underlining the coupé poise. An uninterrupted light driver copy the typical BMW double L shape, conferring each pilot a very three -dimensional and deep appearance. While the outer luminous surfaces radiate the light, the interiors do it more dimly, so the three -dimensional forms are also appreciated when the lights are lit.
The bumper, on the other hand, has a satin aluminum beautification that limits it at the bottom. This ribbon takes up the partition in three segments of the front air inlet, accentuating the width of the car in the rear. At the ends, this bar dynamically frames the recess of the exhaust pipes and, finally, guides the view towards the wheels. The slight undulation of this line next to the terminal tubes, gives this ribbon dynamism and fineness.
The interior of the BMW 4 Concept Coupé Series
The interior of the BMW 4 Concept Coupé series has the typical BMW design. In it, sportsmanship and exclusivity are rightly combined. The driver feels surrounded by all the controls, arranged with the ergonomics that distinguishes BMW cars. All relevant control elements for driving are grouped within the reach of the driver, so they can access them optimally. The layer design, the so -called "layering" design, that is, the ingenious way to use lines and surfaces to create layers that give greater volume to the whole, underlines the dynamism of the BMW 4 series Concept Coupé in the cabin.
In the configuration of the doors the same dynamic layout of the lines is applied. All of them join on the back of the cabin, so the interior design has a clear projection forward. The surfaces along the bases of the side windows and the coatings of the doors execute a tense horizontal movement, and extend beyond the upthroid B to the bottom, joining the front and rear of the cabin. The coatings that cover the doors and the base of the windows create an enveloping form that welcomes all occupants. In addition, the marked shapes of the rear seats make them look like two individual seats, additionally underlining the sporting character of the BMW 4 Concept Coupé series.
The combination of colors and materials proposed by individual BMW harmonizes perfectly with the geometry of the cabin. The black and brown bicolor finish enhances the alternation of the shapes in the front of the cabin. Leather upholstery surfaces acquire a lighter appearance by means of a light color contrast seam. This upholstery is tanned in a sustainable leather, through a process of tanning environmental environment, which makes the skin look natural and is especially pleasant to touch.
The refined finish of all the details of the exterior is also manifested inside. The BMW housing 4 Concept Coupé series has numerous elements designed in detail. The "individual BMW" badge is stamped on the seats and in the threshold rapping rings. In addition, the seats are provided with hand -braided skin embellishing elements that pass longitudinally. Also the edges of the leather and carpet holders are of braided material.
The exclusive equipment is completed by a natural chestnut barrel.
