Help with a Weber 40 DCOE 151 carburetor posted by Manual-Mecanica
Cordial greeting, I have a Dodge 1500 of the year 74 the Argentine model, I wanted to add some more power and heard comments on the good performance and competitive fame of Weber carburetors, I decided to buy a piece of this brand, the carburetor in question is type 40 DCOE 151 of double horizontal mouth. Since then it has been a real nightmare, I was scammed, it has not been refined and I am about to throw the towel, I really regret having made that adaptation, I consider that it was a terrible mistake to replace the original Holley for this because it Italian. Several mechanics have dealt with the I have followed all their recommendations. Change the little orrings, all the packaging of the body, the punch base, the gum, even send a new admission multiple etc. We last with a mechanic 2 whole days trying to discover that when accelerating at the blow it is intempeively drowned and although we manage to correct "in part" the situation by gradually accelerating to start, it has not been possible to solve the problem of gasoline leaks by one of its mouth apparent and deposit fuel puddles on the filter cover. I really do not know what to do, I do a SOS since the investment was considerable and nobody responds to that carburetor, apart that it is almost impossible to get spare parts, it is as if it were unique on the planet, since I have searched for information hours by the internet, in other mechanics, tutorials, tutorials and even on YouTube, all models appear less this, the only thing that I find is the history of Weber in the world and warnings of sale, it is a true one FAVOR!!!!!!.

Thanks for your attention and timely collaboration
greetings from Bogotá Col.

My friend told him that the Wever Carburetor is very good, I had a 1500 Dodge with that carburetor and really is amazed at his economy and efficient.
For the opinion you send and what I had to the carburetor with his Beeo Mechanic that disorderly recommend him to be left with the gum with which Benia and send him the solution.
The problem by which the carburetor is not working well is because he works based on bacio. The hoses that enter the carburetor must be complete and installed correctly so that the diaphragm raising the acceleration piston works. Check the engine vessel if it is very low valves to climb the vessel. I hope my help sympaths with something. Do not give up.
