Case and Quest 98 Caser published by Manual-Mecanica
How about friends, I am new to the forum and I would like to make a consultation, I hope you can help me.

I have a Nissan Quest of 98 V6 3.2, I acquired it only one week, two days after acquiring it, a aim began to sound, it only sounded when lighting, but a few minutes later the noise was complete The noise when I accelerate a little, does not always, only occasionally, how can I know if it is an diver that I should change? On the other hand, when accelerating a slight bell is heard, it does not lose power, it makes its changes very well and it goes well, it is only those two difficulties, it should be noted that the truck has 108 thousand miles. SOME DIAGNOSIS? Thanks in advance!

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Case and Quest 98
Have you found out with certainty what type of oil should the Quest take?
I entered a Mobil Oil Site page and gives me the following oil: 5W30, different options such as synthetic, mineral, etc. appear on the page. But the common viscosity I saw is that.

For cars with more than 75,000 miles, they recommend that specification. I leave the site to analyze ...

www.mobiloil.com/usa-english/Motoroil/ca...Whichoiloption2.aspx

with reference to that theory of oils that are very thin, etc. It is not good to always follow it since contrary to what is believed many times, a thin oil lubricates much better because it can perfectly penetrate the slacks, etc. It is possible that now make the quest more noise because you have put a thicker oil and there are mobile areas in the engine that hardly lubricate.

If you finally choose to make the oil change to try the noise, also change the oil filter.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Case and Quest 98
Thank you very much for the answer, in effect the bell increased, the noise of the aim decreased a bit, but persists, now with a slight slope increased the bell without losing power, I will do once again the change of oil with the specification 5W-30 and I comment on my result. Thank you!!

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Case and Quest 98
As a general knowledge, when the vehicle is equipped with hydraulic taes, the oil must lose weight to remove noises not to increase in its viscosity. That is to say with a 20W-50 it is more likely that there are noise than with a 10W-40 greetings.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Case and Quest 98
Hello friend,
it is true that for Nissan Quest the oil is 5 or 10W-30, so it indicates its maintenance manual.
