Hello, when you have a bad adjustment of the platinos (caliber or gap) or the baquelite that contacts the cam is worn that makes it as a consequence of engine heating. If the platinos are chopped or the spent baquelita it is better to change it and give it the correct adjustment. Try to see and tell us how it was.
